Description
This brick building was, at the time of census enumeration, listed on the Robinson Atlas map as "Central High School". The building was purchased in February 1885 by the Young Men's Gymnastic Club, previously known as "Independent Gymnastic Club", and later known as "New Orleans Athletic Club", an active organization now housed at 222 N. Rampart Street.
